Branding 2.0

It was another of d&ad's talks yesterday with the future of 'branding' at the forefront of conversation. Mr no logo, Simon Manchip
hosted the evening whilst an array of guest speakers including Michael Johnson, spoke in a pecha kusha style format about branding. There seemed straight away to be an agreement that branding had 'changed', moved on and become more than simply a logo. Branding they said, was now about integrated thinking, developing systems that can be transferable, diverse and reconizable without having to stick the logo in the bottom right hand corner. Yet one speaker from SomeOneElse, talked about branding being more about customer experience, about fundamentally re-engineering a brand, not simply re-styling.

It was an interesting set of questions as I haven't really studied branding. But one thing Michael Johnson said at the end really stuck...

"The only limit to branding is your imagination"

Branding?
