Ex presidents discussion
We showed the work we'd picked out from past annuals - work that had socially influenced us, and been a force of 'good' in solving / highlighting problems - It was fantastic to hear these guys speak about what they thought made a good idea, and a successful campaign.
Points I noted down :
- Small detonators that start a revolution - guerrilla gardening - can evolve into a phenomenon.
- understanding ideas that are actually a force for good, and have had an impact, not just good ideas which are self rewarding.
- looking at design which thinks of the bigger picture, a good idea is no longer a cleaver one liner

Pick me up
What is a great idea?
The school of life
School of life d&ad talk. Spoke about - importance of free time, and not worrying about it having an outcome - being plugged in with technology, but Also the importance of disconnecting - not looking for better answers, but better questions - not every end is a goal. Some interesting points, but nice to see d&ad look outside design for inspiration.

Disaster = Poster?
I read this article the other day. It stood out because of the work I'm doing at D&AD, awarding this type of work. Just made me think whether this type work should be awarded at all as that may be a slight motivation in the back of peoples mind?
I do still think it's great that people are recognized for this type of work though.

D&AD
Started working at D&ad last week as an intern until April helping launch their very top secret 50th anniversary event! Spent ALL day yesterday going through the old annuals picking out projects that are relevant to the secret event opening. Anyway, started photographing all the ideas I liked which is why it probably took me all day!
